Jennilee and Paula have been great friends ever since they met in 2011 traveling the world as fellow anatomy teachers for Frog Lotus Yoga International Teacher Training. Jennilee has since created her own teacher trainings (Hot Warrior Yoga and Inner Sanctum Yoga), authored The Perfect Chaturanga: A Comprehensive Guide to the Human Body Through Vinyasa Yoga, and joined the online teaching and blogging teams at Ekhart Yoga. Paula teaches anatomy in London and Spain as well as complete Frog Lotus Teacher Trainings at her well-established Durga Yoga Studio in Ireland
Suryalila is a beautiful old renovated olive farm nestled serenely in a large one valley in the foothills of the Sierra de Grazelema. On the beautiful 45 acres you will find eight houses that form the cortège (with two inner courtyards with orange and lemon trees), a plethora of yurts and “glamping” tents, three magnificent yoga halls (one being the state-of-the-art Om Dome), a gorgeous dining hall with organic juice cafe, yoga shoppe, salt water pool, eco sauna, organic vegetable gardens and farm, and many spectacular areas with horses, alpacas, donkeys, and chickens. A striking part of the natural beauty of the property is the breathtaking vista extending in all directions: rolling hills, fields of sunflowers, and lakes. The sense of vastness and expansiveness is very uplifting.
The Om Dome is The Most Magnificent Yoga Hall in All of Europe
The Dome has an underfloor heating and cooling system, a state of the art sound system and atmospheric lighting. It is fully equipped with Manduka Pro Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and eye pillows. Classes will either be in The Om Dome, The Moon Shala or The Ganesha Shala, all of which are beautiful spaces for you to practice yoga.
Suryalila prides themselves on their outstanding vegetarian fare. Meals are delicious, diverse, and beautifully presented, using all organic and mostly local ingredients (much from their own gardens and farm!)
The furnishings and decorations at Suryalila have all been imported from Bali, India and Morocco. The Spanish farmhouse-style wooden ceilings with beams and the terracotta tiled floors blend harmoniously with the exotic Asian furniture and wall hangings. The designer decor is both soothing to the soul and delightful to the eye. Such a wonderful place to retreat!
