Further Training for Yoga Teachers
Running since early 2020, this YTT is one the first 2 such courses ever launched worldwide, with hundreds of graduates from all continents.Niamh created Yoga for the Stages of Menopause in 2015. Almost a decade of research and work with hundreds of women has gone into the creation of this course. Yoga can significantly help ease the symptoms and general experience of women during the perimenopause transition and into the rest of their lives. But can harm in ways we may not imagine. In fact Niamh sees that Yoga teachers may unwittingly be hindering women at this time, and we should be educated in how we can help. Because the way that women use their body needs to change to reduce symptoms and reduce the higher risks of many health issues arising from perimenopause, and as the years go by.

This course is steeped in the tradition of Yoga but is also deeply pragmatic:

  • There is no pose, or sequence of poses that will stop or reduce particular symptoms. There is a lack of research to back up such a claim. However you will learn that what & how you teach may need to be adjusted to avoid that which may unwittingly hurt your student, physically, socially, mentally and emotionally, and how to use and add to your skills in ways that are relevant to the changing lived experience, biochemistry and structure of your clients.
  • The information that you will learn regarding medical awareness and approaches is via contribution from Consultant Endocrinologist of 30 years, Dr Annice Mukherjee. She is a leading light in Menopause treatment and care, who is currently spearheading the campaign for balanced, mutiple-study-research-based information about the use of HRT in the face of the current dramatic and polarising media headlines.
  • What you will learn in your nutrition module by Petra Fulham NT, BSc, is far from recommendations of extreme diets, but also multiple-study-based adjustments tailored to supporting the vulnerabilities and needs of the changing female mid-life and later-life environment.

      * Recently upgraded to a 44 hour course. There are now extended on Yoga for Osteoporosis and yoga Neuro-stimulus for Brain Health, two of the main concerns post menopause and affecting many more women than men in the decades after midlife.

"...an incredibly nourishing, enlightening and fascinating training. I am a yoga teacher and trainer and, even though I have been teaching full-time for over a decade, I can't quite believe how much I have added to my knowledge. I feel like I have had Christmas already!
Niamh is a skilled, dedicated teacher whose lightness of touch, humour and humility sometimes belie the unfathomable depths or her knowledge, which she readily shares with boundless generosity. Niamh manages to weave together a plethora of disciplines to form a coherent, navigable, practical approach to the stages of menopause." Morven Hamilton, UK Graduate
