Children’s Yoga Teacher Training

40 hour 4 day course -30 contact hours, 10 hours non-contact 

This course is suitable for Yoga teachers, parents, School Teachers and those who work in the education and care sector. 

Prerequisites: 2 years regular Yoga experience with an established practice and experience working with children. 

 

 

Module 1- Yoga Benefits, Child development & Philosophy – The 8 Limbs of Yoga

Module 2- The Yoga Class, Management, Behavior, Themes and Intentions

Module 3- Asana, Anatomy and Physiology, Sequences & Songs

Module 4- Yoga based Warm ups, Pranayama, Games & Props

Module 5- Yoga Stories- Books, Creating our own, Improvised

Module 6- Relaxation, Meditation, Chanting & Mudra (Bhakti Yoga)

Module 7- The Chakras

Module 8- Yoga for Children with Additional Needs- Taught by Child Yoga Therapist (4hours)

Module 9- Family and Partner Yoga

Module 10- Business, Safeguarding and Art of Teaching


Course details

You will be given:

  • An in depth course manual with a varied selection of class plans
  • Online Videos of example classes or an invitation to observe  children’s yoga classes/workshops
  • Online support from an experienced and professional mentor and a community of Wellbeing Bees Teachers (which continues after completion of the course)
  • Certification and guidance on gaining insurance

You will learn how to:

  • Teach yoga in a fun, creative way in a range of locations
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore their body/mind/spirit whilst connecting with others
  • Teach yoga to children aged 3- 16 years
  • Adapt yoga for children with learning and physical disabilities
  • Use themes and set intentions in your classes to enhance the wellbeing of all your students
  • Create your own yoga based games, sequences, stories and activities
  • Include Bhakti Yoga practices like Kirtan and Mantra into your class
  • Practice and devise a wide range of meditations and relaxations for a range of benefits
  • Teach Breathing, calming, energizing and refreshing  techniques
  • Deliver age appropriate yogic philosophy
  • Use music, stories, art, crafts, nature and Hindu Mythology to enhance the senses
  • Establish your authentic teaching voice and style

  • Tips for running your own business
  • Marketing, PR and Social Media guidance
