Overview

Namaste,

I have 5 children and i run a Gym, WyeFit with my husband, my life is somewhat hectic.

I have been studying Yoga for around 5 years and loved every minute, but my life had got to the point where I no longer had time for my own practice or attend a class.

My life in early 2016 was teaching 25+ classes per week, looking after 5 children, trying to be a good wife, the best parent and daughter, and help run a business. It all got way too much! My mental health broke down, my body broke down and I struggled to even get out of bed, let alone anything else! My anxiety was through the roof, "i'm not good enough", "everyone hates me", "everyone thinks i'm a bad parent", "a bad person" and this was the constant monologue in my head. Dr's diagnosed me with fibromyalgia as i was in constant pain, I was on antidepressants, pain medication and nothing seemed to be working. I had to stop work completely which made things worse. I felt like a complete failure.

That's when my mother in law bought me a book on mindfulness, Ruby wax's 'Frazzled', I couldn't put it down, all of it made so much sense. which then inspired me to look up my old Yoga instructor and start attending classes again. My first few classes were so hard, hard to turn off my overworking brain and hard to get my body to move as i was in so much pain, but I persevered. Within a few weeks my pain had decreased, suddenly I could see light at the end of the tunnel. I then progressed to doing yoga and what I had learnt from the mindfulness everyday, although i felt that i never had time, i made time, I have since learnt that we make our own time. This is what lead me to want to pass what i had learnt or unlearned as the case maybe to everyone else.

I then made the decision to attend a Intense 200hr Yoga instructor teacher training course in Cyprus, at Ravvi's school of Yoga in April 2017 and it was mind blowing! I have since decided that i want to specialize in mental health, having only just grazed the surface of what it must be like to live with long term depression and pain, to give someone the tools to be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel would be the greatest gift that i could give back.

I have since completed workshops on teaching Yoga with mental health. Groovykids children's yoga, Teen yoga with the Teen yoga foundation and Trapeze yoga with Yoga body.

I will be running weekly classes, monthly workshops, and working with the local herefordshire mental health groups. My classes will vary from energizing to rejuvenating and also partner yoga to help strengthen relationships and trust, using asanas, pranayama and meditation to strengthen the body and control the fluctuations of the mind.
