Overview

A Vinyasa yoga teacher, Claire Skinner’s love of yoga started over 20 years ago, having been introduced to yoga by her mother. Dipping in and out of the practise over the many evolving life changes, it wasn’t till 4 years ago that she has deepened her practice, with gratitude to her Ashtanga teachers. Attending a large number of yoga workshops with some incredible teachers, as well as attending a few Ashtanga based teacher trainings, finally guided Claire to this point of wanting to share the nectar of yoga. Still the everlasting student, with a thirst for learning from the yoga practise, the yoga Sutras, her teachers and her students, ignites her love of yoga on a daily basis.

With a strong intent on alignment and understanding of the body is thanks to a background in Biomedicine with a focus on Anatomy & Physiology.  However, always in the back of her mind, strongly believed in an individualised tailored form of medicine, which steered Claire to study Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Massage Therapy.

Life’s everchanging platform then took Claire and her family to Greece in 2004, to take on an ambitious and exciting adventure, restoring an old  Greek village in Corfu, transforming it to The Rou Estate. It was here that Claire’s creative juices erupted whilst assisting her architect husband and unexpectedly entered into the interior design field.

The gifts and experiences that have been added into Claire’s life matrix,  has allowed her to be open, accepting and curious to what the day brings: every day is different, every stage in life is different,  every being is a unique and a beautiful soul, and all of our life experiences make a little mark on our essence. With a love of the gift of individuality, Claire’s strong empathy and understanding to each individual’s needs are the tools that she brings into her teaching practise.

Mixing up creativity, intuition, and compassion in her classes, gives the students the space to find themselves and explore their own yoga practise with curiosity, joy and seeing where the journey will take them.  Claire’s strong understanding of anatomy and body dynamics, creates a safe environment for the student to practise.  With a particular love of kicking off a beginner’s yoga practise, Claire can ignite the student’s  yoga practise with patience, respect, creativity and humour.

Currently Claire has started on her Yoga Therapy 500 hour Teacher Training at Minded-awakening another path.
