Overview

My first taste of yoga was in New Delhi as a travelling 19 year old.   Fast forward ten years after a lot of fun working in the music and nightlife industry and I discovered how yoga could unlock a deep spiritual awareness in me as I used the practice to empower me through pregnancy.  By the time I was planning my second babes home birth I was hooked and could see very clearly that working with yoga, with women and around birth was my clear path forwards.  I had been greatly inspired by Lolly Stirk and her group of teachers.

In 2001 I was amongst a  handful of birth doulas developing Doula Uk.  I stayed with this organisation for many years and in addition to attending births, worked as an Assessor and  Mentor to trainee doulas.  I also completed my training as a Maternity Reflexologist.  During these years my yoga teacher was the seminal John Stirk with whom I continued to explore the Scaravelli inspired  practice of yoga and found my training in anatomy so enhanced this sensitive approach.  In 2004 I completed one of the early  Marie Mongan Hypno-Birthing trainings and used this as both a doula and teacher to support parents and babes hoping for calm and gentle  births.

In 2006 I completed my yoga  training with Lolly Stirk and  YogaBirth.  This 300 hour course is spread over 18 months and accredited by The Royal College of Midwives.  A fantastic and thorough training which certifies graduates as Pregnancy Yoga Teachers and Childbirth Educators.  The teachings of Vanda Scaravelli underpin the yoga of all YogaBirth teachers. I later competed my Post Natal Yoga training with YogaBirth

In 2007 I was the first teacher to join The Power Yoga Company (London).  I call this studio home and am still there today.  I set up our thriving Pre and Post Natal department where thousands of women have enjoyed the transformational power of yoga and the wonder of community.

In 20!4 I did the same at Lumi Power Yoga and continue to teach here too.    I run regular couples workshops at both studios, using yoga, meditation and hypnobirthing to prepare for labour and birth.

I am a  a founder and teacher trainer on the Love Yoga TTC for pre and post natal yoga.

In June 2021 I  completed my Yoga for Menopause training with Yinstinct Yoga.   A Yoga Alliance Professionals accredited course.   I will be offering my 'Yoga For Queenagers' classes to support per-menopausal and post-menopausal women both in person and on line very soon.

I am also trained in traumatic birth debriefing.

I feel my life is so enriched by these practices of women supporting women and by my amazing friends who are so precious to me.  I have always loved to travel and my girls were backpackers before they could read.  A highlight for me was showing them some of my favourite places in India and being rowed along The Ganges at Varanasi by my youngest.   They have also inherited my love for festivals and music.  A perfect day for me would begin with some sunshiney yoga, a trip to an exhibition - maybe at my local the V&A and rounded off by cooking for friends with candlelight, music and wine, laughing and  dancing together.  Heaven.

My classes are very personal regardless of the numbers.  I will always know everyone by name and infuse our practice with warmth and humour.  My hope is that together we tune in to something so deep, intuitive and familiar and that in this space we feel safe and free.

I enjoyed a lot my classes with Lulu during pregnancy and post pregnancy. Not just because I really felt that physically it made an impact (I had less body pains and more flexibility than expected!)...But mainly, because of her energy, words and the positive state of mind that I managed to achieved thanks to her! "You are a strong capable woman!!" I will always be grateful to Lulu!

I thoroughly enjoyed classes with Lulu when pregnant and following my birth with my baby. Prior to my birth they were hugely beneficial in preparing me for labour. Lulu is kind, caring and I feel very lucky I had her help. I would recommend her to any pregnant lady before their birth and following labour with baby. I cannot thank her enough for her help, support and guidance. She encouraged my warrior out!
