Overview

I find myself writing this approaching 7 years of running Stonemonkey and teaching Yoga full-time. In total I have been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for 17 years  and teaching for 13 years.

My teaching over this time has evolved and I have developed a greater interest in  making Ashtanga Yoga accessible to everyone regardless of age or physical limitations and try to teach & inspire people to commit to a regular practice. Observing students over the years, practiced on any level with regularity this system of Yoga  has the ability to create positive change for  the practitioner on all levels, physically, psychologically  & emotionally.

Working with all the inspiring students that attend classes and courses at Stonemonkey has increased my love & inspiration for this practice.

Even after 17 years of practice, everyday I still feel the same sense of awe during practice that I felt on the first Ashtanga class with Mark Freeth. I studied with Mark for 7-8yrs with Mark gradually introducing  me to teaching over a 5 year period . As Marks teaching & focus drifted away from the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, my interest & passion still remained   and this is why I still practice & teach this wonderful system. During this period I also worked with Mike Nevitt who's influence still remains in my practise to this day.

Over the last five years In the main I practise alone but make periodic visits to Ashtanga teachers, namely Hamish Hendry & Manu Rossi who have supported & developed my practice.
