Hi, I'm Ali. I am a full-time yoga teacher and yoga teacher trainer.

My passion for yoga began in the tropics of Koh Samui, Thailand, where I discovered hot yoga. While my first class filled me with terror (as I struggled to touch my toes), I soon got over my nerves (and my tight hamstrings) and what started initially as a way to keep fit, soon progressed to something much more. I quickly realised that the benefits of yoga went way beyond the physical into the mental, as the classes began to work their magic, calming my monkey mind. I was hooked and I completed my 200 Hour Hot Yoga Teacher Training with Absolute Yoga in Thailand in 2007.

I later returned to the UK and began teaching regular classes for Nuffield gym in Northampton. In 2014, Sweat Studios opened the first hot yoga studio in Milton Keynes and I was able to realise my dream to teach full-time. I initially started teaching hot and vinyasa yoga classes at the studio, but as the class timetable grew, I took the opportunity to train in different styles of yoga; pre and post-natal, yin, restorative and rocket yoga. In 2018 the studio supported me to complete my advanced 300 hours yoga teacher training with Kathy Ran and the Yoga University.

Sweat launched its first yoga teacher training programme in 2016 and I was involved from the outset, assisting the Senior Yoga Teachers with aspects such as teaching practice and postural alignment. In 2019 I achieved the position of Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and was able to assume the role of lead Yoga Teacher Trainer on Sweat's 200 Hour Hot/Hatha Yoga Teaching Training Programme. I absolutely love sharing my experience and knowledge of yoga with others. To watch our students go from yoga practitioners to yoga teachers is such a joy. My mantra is to have fun on the mat, believe in yourself and smile!
