Overview

I havea competitive sporting background but with regular ankle injuries I retired from competitive netball and with also suffering from reoccurring back problems it also meant giving up mid-distance running. Having always been involved in sports I wanted to retain my fitness level in an enjoyable but challenging manner that suited my nature and this was where in 2008 I discovered yoga. Since then I have practiced dynamic and strong styles of Ashtanga and Forrest that both have provided me with significant benefits physically as the poses within my practice have strengthened my ankles significantly. Through focussing on poses to strengthen my core muscles my back has strengthened and also found that long-lost flexibility which means I am now running free of back pain. In 2011 I also had my second child and used my knowledge and experience of yoga to manage and recover from the physicality of pregnancy and childbirth.  There were also emotional benefits  gained through my passion for yoga which has led me to change my life from a stressful high pressured lifestyle to one focussing on health and well-being. In 2011 I decided to utilise my professional skills and personal yoga experience to become an Ashtanga teacher and trained under Brian Cooper, qualifying in January 2012 so I can share the benefits and enjoyment with others.
