Overview

I have been practising yoga and attending classes for over 20 years and I have been inspired by many wonderful teachers from many different disciplines of Hatha, Vinyassa, Iyengar, Yin, meditation and mindfulness.  

Yoga has been a constant presence in my life in helping me to manage the stress of a demanding job and a busy life as a working mum. 

With my children off at university I have taken some time out to finally do my formal yoga training and I am looking forward to sharing my passion for a more balanced and holistic way of life with my students.  

I did my teacher training at Ashram Om on the beautiful Balearic island of Majorca, Spain.  It truly was a transformational experience and one that has enhanced my knowledge and passion for my ongoing yoga journey.  I am continuing my professional development with regular courses and workshops to keep the inspiration and learning flowing so that I am able to refresh and enhance my teaching.

I am seeking to inspire students to use yoga as a way of improving their well being and my classes are designed to use the breath to help stretch, energise and relax and bring harmony to the mind, body and breath.  I often use aromatherapy essential oils to enhance the yoga space and practice.  I also love working outside using the elements to inform the practice.

I believe yoga should be accessible to all whatever your age, size, shape or ability.  It is not how far you can stretch your body but how far can you release and calm your mind. The quote I love is from tennis star and activist Arthur Ashe, who said that to be a success at anything in life you had to do three things..

'Start where you are

Use what you have

Do what you can. '

    Mandy conducts her yoga classes with clear instruction and correction of technique with a calm and friendly manner.She varies her lessons to maintain interest and I always leave feeling calm and refreshed. I would recommend her class to anyone.

    Mandy's class is very similar in style to my long time yoga teacher, who is now concentrating on meditation. Preferring the posture work, Mandy explains, where you should feel the stretch and very non judgemental in how you execute the stances. Always an extremely pleasant session , especially when in the evening class, perfect for preparing for bedtime and thus assured of a really good nights sleep.

    Mandys' mindful yoga is the highlight of my week. Mandy is professional, informative and a lot more bendy than me! Her calming manner really help as i started off feeling clumsy and inept but soon felt more confident with her support and guidance. It has really helped to quieten my mind but ease some aches. A real treat and much needed part of my week
