Overview

I began practising yoga over 20 years ago.

I initially trained in ballet and dance at performing arts school. Fitness is in my DNA and I always understood the importance of staying fit and healthy. I became a serious 'gym bunny' pounding away with running, spinning and weights.

After a serious illness and major life trauma I went to a yoga class back in Seattle. I had practiced before but I didn't really 'get it'. What I needed was  a safe space to be present. To breathe. To let go. I loved the way I felt after a yoga practice and started attending classes almost every day.

I was prompted by my teacher and fellow students to become a teacher. I took my first of many teacher trainings. I remember the Amazing sense of fulfilment after teaching my first class.  I have taken further trainings, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jason Crandell, Rodney Yee, Shiva Rea, Kathryn Budig, Tara Styles, Alexandria Crow, Baron Baptiste and Stephany Snyder. I have also qualified to teach  Yin Yoga, Strala yoga and most recently Yoga for cancer with Laura Kupperman and Inner Peace Yoga therapy In the USA.

I am committed to ongoing training to improve my knowledge and stay at the cutting edge of new research as well as to be inspired and current.

My own yoga practice is vital to me. I consider myself forever a student. I approach yoga with a beginners mind, always open to learning or experiencing something new.

if you come to my class you can expect a nurturing inclusive environment with attention to safety and alignment. I am an approachable non intimidating teacher who likes to add a playful element to my classes. I weave in a little yogic philosophy and encourage my students to dig a little deeper off the mat. My playlists are always popular but never overwhelming.

I teach yoga because I know how it can change every aspect of  life for everyone  who practices no matter what age, level of fitness, size or shape.  I encourage my students to take yoga off the mat and find the connection to their true self. Yoga is a journey to yourself through yourself. Practice and all is coming.

Namaste..

With love Lisa x
