Overview

I am a Yoga Therapist specialising in Trauma. I run further training courses including Accredited Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher 100 hour qualification course which is online live, next intake September 2023 (limited places remaining).

I am a certified Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner and am taking up an internship with Gabor Maté for one year.

I work privately and for the Clinic for Dissociative Studies having previously worked in the Neuropsychology Department at Salford Royal Hospital, as a Yoga Therapist.

My approach reflects my wide range of experience running groups in addiction recovery centres, probation services and community services as well as the vast trauma training I’ve had with Bessel van der Kolk, Gabor Maté, Peter Levine, Gary Carter, Ralf Marzen, Carolyn Spring, Lisa Kaley-Isley and Lucy Arnsby-Wilson to name a few.

I have worked with Manchester Rape Crisis (with their clients and running professional training for their counsellors), Creative Living Centre (one to one sessions and groups), Mind (groups) and many private organisations. I see people across the whole mental health spectrum including in day care or medium secure hospitals and supported accommodation.

Other information: I was a simulated patient and facilitator in communication and consultation skills at Manchester University School of Medicine for over 10 years. I’ve been published in Cambridge Scholars Addiction and Performance book (2014), and written articles for the following magazines: Yoga Therapy Today, Exhale and Glamour. I have presented at mental health events to raise awareness of the role the body plays in our mental health.
