Overview

I am a yoga teacher and academic.  I'm fascinated to understand how we learn to move and be still in our lives, through sport, work, food, and all aspects of our lives.  I feel that our understanding is cultivated through our experience of our own bodies and our observations of others.

My own experience of yoga began at the age of 12, at school, where as a very inflexible and unsporty child, I discovered that doing yoga gave me access to a different perspective on and appreciation of my own body. Compassion for and understanding of one's own body is at the heart of what I teach.   Although my classes are full of deep breathwork and dynamic movement, my students describe the classes as restorative.
