Overview

Yoga has been an interest of mine since I was 18 but it was only when I became more dedicated to regular practise 6 years ago that I experienced it’s transformative magic.

Yoga has helped me be calmer and more able to cope with everyday stresses. It has helped me be more comfortable with myself and to accept where I am at the present moment. I love the sense of unity and connection that I experience through yoga.

I wanted to bring the magic of yoga to the young people I meet in my work in a mental health service so went on to train with Teen Yoga and I have since been teaching yoga and mindfulness to groups of young people at CAMHS since.

Following a 6 month Yoga immersion course with Laura Green I decided to do my 200 hour teacher training course in 2019 with Universal Yoga as I wanted find out more about the philosophy and theory behind the practice and develop a greater depth of knowledge. This has been a wonderful journey of discovery and I have come to love the Sivananda sequence.

Through yoga I have learnt to sing from my heart and I absolutely love chanting kirtan and the way it opens up the heart and brings people together.

I am passionate about using yoga as a tool to help in mental illness and am currently teaching yoga at MIND. I hope in the future to train as a Yoga Therapist for Mental Health.
