Overview

Hi everyone, I’m Siobhan, a social entrepreneur, holistic exercise teacher, complimentary therapist and teacher trainer with over 25 years experience in the world of wellbeing and also a Mummy of 7.

Since 1995 when I began studying complementary therapies, I’ve been fascinated with energy and the links between our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies... as a former gymnast, acrobat and coach I’ve always had an interest in dynamic body movement and balance.

In 2000 I discovered Yoga Teacher, Julie Hanson’s classes (in Peckham’s in Glassford Street, Glasgow) and loved her approach to teaching holistic exercise, especially the seasonal element. I signed up to Julie’s Chiball Teacher Training as this sat well with my complimentary therapy/acrobatic background.

I then spent the next 3 years with Julie, completing both basic and advanced training with her and some other fantastic teachers, before joining her CYS Scotland Hatha Teacher Training course in 2004/5. This is where I embarked on my journey of teaching and learning over the years.. teaching community classes all over Glasgow and the outskirts before moving to Central Scotland in 2006.

As a Mummy of lots of little boys (I had 5 under 5 and a quarter years old) I always had a bunch of little folk sharing my mat.. which lead me to kids yoga training with English company Yoga Bugs in 2005.

I taught kids classes in centres, nurseries and in schools for many years, including collaborating with children’s health concept company, Sparklify to create a children’s holistic exercise plan and holistic garden design with The Dunblane Centre, Scotland.

Focusing on teaching children of all ages, I taught toddler yoga, pre-school, primary aged and teen yoga up until Summer 2019 when I took a break to focus on a new project.

In 2012 I trained as a YogaBellies Teacher with Founder, Cheryl MacDonald.  I was drawn to learn more about how yoga could support women through every life stage, from pre-pubescent to post-menopausal. I absolutely love running YogaBellies Central Scotland and also doing teacher training for HQ. Right now I offer Prenatal and Postnatal classes in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.

I have worked with local charity the Dunblane Centre since 2004 teaching classes, organising wellbeing fairs and running training courses and volunteering, as well as being a trustee to a local charity and a member of my local Community Council.

In early 2019 I began the process of starting up a new Social Enterprise, The Wellbeing Circle. The Wellbeing Circle is a new social enterprise with its primary aim to support the wellbeing of people from all walks of life regardless of their background.
We have an amazing team, working together to create fantastic courses and workshops to support both yoga teachers & other health care providers and those in vulnerable groups.

The Wellbeing Circle is a place for us to bring together all the tools we’ve picked up in my lifetime, and gift them to others.
In particular we are very interested in supporting people in vulnerable groups such as those effected by mental health disorders.

Our first project was to open up The Reiki Rooms in partnership with local business Lumia Spa, Stirling.
We offered reiki sessions and courses to the general public with all profits funding free yoga classes to mental health charity, Action In Mind.

These sessions and courses are sadly on hold at the moment but we are still supporting the mental health group via online yoga classes, meditations and breathing exercises.
