My name is Kate Churchman, and I live in Winchester with my husband and one daughter, and have another daughter at university in Bristol.

Do all those pictures of beautiful people holding unfeasibly athletic poses in exotic locations somehow make yoga look like an impossible challenge?

Me too.

In 15 years of practising yoga I too have struggled to feel flexible, to breathe deeply or even to fit in any practice between working and raising a family. I stuck with it, learning from wonderful teachers, because I deeply believe that it is worth it. I do believe that everyone can approach yoga, and can benefit from the physical flexibility and strength it offers, can find a place of centred grounding, and learn to find peace in our busy world.

I also believe the experience of yoga should fit each and every person’s circumstances. Which is why I spend time in my deliberately small classes making sure each person is aligned, adjusted and treasured, and the practice works for you. These are not simple exercise classes; these are an adventure to learn what you can do, to learn how yoga can change your life.
