Overview

With a background in Higher Education at The Open University, I loved supporting adults with disabilities for 9 1/2 years of my working career in Disabled Student Services. I moved up to beautiful Derbyshire in 2015, with the intention to lead a healthier and more balanced lifestyle and wanted to continue to help others to improve their quality of life.

I had been practicing Yoga for over 20 years. Having suffered with a painful chronic inflammatory condition I found Yoga to be an essential part of my effective pain management and emotional wellbeing.

Just 8 months after major pelvic surgery I decided to take a leap of faith and begin training to become a Hatha Yoga Teacher. I could not have imagined what a challenging and amazing healing journey of self-transformation it would be. It has been a wonderful life changing experience.

I completed my Hatha Yoga Teacher 200hr Training Diploma in Sheffield with Collins & Barth School of Yoga, which is Yoga Alliance accredited.

My ‘flow with your breath’(move with your breath at your pace) restorative classes are Hatha Yoga based and suitable for all including absolute beginners and those with limited mobility. Everyone can enjoy this yoga practice!

We’ll begin classes with essential Breathing practices (Pranayama) to help bring your focus inwards. Then you’ll be guided through Yoga postures (Asana) with attention to safe alignment to help you build strength, flexibility and balance for wellness. Bolsters and blankets then help you to feel supported in Restorative postures to balance your energies and calm your mind.  At the end of the class relaxing guided Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) will help you to find inner peace and serenity.

These traditional Yoga practices will help you to feel less tired, increase your energy and improve wellbeing.

I am passionate about Yoga and look forward to sharing the many benefits of this practice for physical and emotional wellbeing with you in the near future.
