Yoga means union or yoking, to be together as one. To yoke we need to go within and connect our minds to our bodies. Beginning to unravel the information our body holds about our selves. Allowing a little time and space for body and mind.
What is your yoga? It is a class or workshop that offers other fundamental aspects to yoga practice than asana practice / the poses. Your yoga is asking you to hold back the physical a little, and bring forward greater awareness of your unique form, needs, limitations and capabilities. As well as calming the mind, loosening and strengthening the body with a gentle asana practice you are invited to get to know your body-mind experience through stillness, tactility, free movement and a little play.
TESSA is a fully qualified Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher and has a BA in Devised Theatre and Choreographic practices. She joins the two worlds of yoga and creative performance practices to create a light hearted and explorative experience.
Her yoga style is a mix of Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Restorative. Her classes aim to leave you feeling balanced, lighter and more relaxed in body and mind, more open in heart. With a love of dynamic flow as well as, a strong appreciation for slow movement and stillness, her classes allow time for you to wind down, connect to your mind to body and explore whats going on within. She uses visualisation techniques and a calming tone to lead you, and offers the opportunity to explore variations, with encouragement to find how the asanas work best for your body.
ABBY HOFFMAN YTT: Tessa embodies the archetype of the Wounded Healer – someone who can offer a contained space for others. She approaches all the work and tasks intelligently and with focus. Uses her own body and practice to offer help and guidance to others and I feel she will be a successful and appreciated yoga teacher.
