This workshop focuses on how to align a posture from the awareness of the water element, āp, drawing upon the principle of non-resistance, flow and the subtle yet inevitable power of moving water.

Almost three-fourths of the weight of the human body is water which can profoundly impact our perceptual experience of embodiment. Sensing inwards to the way in which fluid moves within the body, this workshop engages in a creative enquiry that seeks to understand the power and qualities of the water element as it moves within the form.

Working with the subtle aspects of this element within the central channel, suṣumnā nāḍi, we will invoke āp, as a basis for fluidity, adaptability and graceful expression. The senses of hearing, touch, sight and taste are engaged in perceiving the water element.

The practice includes a variety of poses with an emphasis on restorative amd inverted postures. Prāṇāyāma, chanting and meditation are included as part of the workshop.
