This workshop focuses on how to align a posture from the sensitivity of the breath drawing upon the element of wind, vāyu, which represents the power of mobility, expansion and the movement of prāṇa or life force.
Sensing the current of the breath as a way to align a posture involves subtlety of perception, self-awareness and patience. By moving with the rhythm of the breath as the means to enter into, sustain and exit from a posture, and maintaining awareness of the power of the breath in between postures, the notion of practice itself dissolves into fullness of experience and means merges into goal.
We will invoke vāyu as a method of sensing inwards and feeling what is there, utilising breath as a natural current for going deeper within; the senses of hearing and touch illuminate the wind element.
The practice includes a variety of poses with a playful interchange of forward bending, twists and back-bending postures. Prāṇāyāma, chanting and meditation are included as part of the workshop.
