Overview

I am passionate about sharing yoga with people of all levels and abilities and believe every posture can be modified to make it available to everyone in whatever way they can manage.

It was after a motor biking accident in 1980 which left me unable to walk for 6 months that I began to fully appreciate the regenerative effects of yoga. Iyengar teacher, Paddy Genner in Zimbabwe, helped me to recover and I continued to study with her for 20 years.

I had the pleasure to study Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at The Practice Place run by Derek Ireland, Kristina Karitinou-Ireland and Rhada and knew I had found the style I wanted to teach. Kristina coached me and handed her classes over to me in 1998. I have since taught across Sussex, including Evolution and the Brighton Natural Health Centre, and become a Senior Yoga Alliance Teacher and Teacher Trainer.

While teaching I draw on 34+ years of experience in Osteopathy, creating a safe and friendly environment for people to explore and use their bodies in ways they can manage and that are beneficial for their health and well-being. Safely easing tensions, aches and pains, and developing strength and flexibility.

I have expanded my 35 years of sound therapy experience with tuning forks by learning to play the gongs, which I love to share with my students.

I am also a qualified Yoga Teacher Trainer and run a 200hr Yoga Alliance approved teacher training course; sharing my Osteopathic knowledge to help students 'feel' into the body and my Kinesiology knowledge to help them understand muscle movement, combined with a lifetime of Dance, Healing and Energy Work to add a further dimension to your ability to help yourself and others; in movement, yoga, teaching and in life.
