Sam Rao Yoga at Waitrose Supermarkets

In 2017. First, we did a 9 weeks pilot at 2 Waitrose supermarkets. Both sides learnt a lot from the pilot and spent time analyzing and reviewing the value of providing yoga classes to Waitrose customers and linking with providing good food. The theme was “eat well, move well”.

In 2018. We now see JLP/Waitrose taking their initiative to the next level. A trial program will run for 3 months with one-hour yoga classes on 3 nights; Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Basingstoke, Newbury and Banbury.

Sam Rao Yoga Ltd., is a preferred supplier to JLP/Waitrose with a service level agreement that covers a range of logistics including; yoga mats, feedback documentation, reporting plus a survey to provide evidence-based reports on health benefits of this initiative.

Purpose of this article is that through Yoga Alliance Professionals,  I can reach and create an interest in all teachers to participate and share in the benefits.

Looking to the future; one of my strategy planning documents estimates that over the next 2 years, we are going to need support from over 400 yoga teachers. JLP/Waitrose is undoubtedly a leader in this kind of initiatives. My objective is to anticipate and to ensure that we are able to deliver a high-quality product – excellent yoga classes – to any of their current and future locations.

How can yoga teachers participate?  Request an information sheet; email sam@samraoyoga.com  confirming your interest, your location and permission to allow contacting you via emails and to keep you further informed, as plans and this initiative progresses.
