After a long career teaching literature, writing, and psychology to international high school students, I began to suspect that there were other ways I could serve adolescents beyond helping them get into a good university. At a conference in 2014 I met the remarkable Heather Mason of London's Minded Institute and began studying to be a yoga therapist for mental health. After completing that rigorous program, which combines yoga and mindfulness with neuroscience and psychotherapy, I am better equipped to understand and address the challenges that young people face in the 21st century. Now located in Brussels, I work with young people who have a range of mental health challenges, as well as teaching the Minded Institute's 8-week course for anxiety and depression to adults.
