Laura Gilmore

Yoga Coach

Known for her humour, warmth and compassion, studying with Laura is a joy. She has been teaching since 2001 and offering teacher training since 2009; her work continues to evolve as her practice and study deepen. As a yogi with 30 years experience, she seamlessly weaves yoga wisdom with the practical. Laura shares an evidence based approach to yoga- based on scientific study to discover the most effective ways to create ease for body and mind.

Laura teaches with trauma sensitive approach, acknowledging suffering while celebrating the absurd and beautiful.

Laura's practice spans three decades, and integrates everything from meditation to pranayama, subtle body work to asana. Most recently she has studied with Jules Mitchell who write the Yoga Bio-mechanics book & other evidence based work, including pain science, neurology and developmental movement.

With a love of subtle body work, she has studied with Tias Little & Anodea Judith. Her meditation is taught in a trauma sensitive approach, adapted form her studies with the Zen master, Thich That Nanh. For asana Laura has studied Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga as well as mobility work and somatics. She loves to share creative sequences which carry everyone through on a common theme or exploration. Moving with an inner focus rather than trying to achieve an outer form.

"Laura strikes the balance beautifully between profundity and humour. If you want to experience the true meaning of yoga this is the teacher for you." (recent trainee, Lesley-Ann Eaton)
