Claire Martin Luxton teaches Functional Yoga, specialising in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Slow Flow and Mindfulness. Encouraging body awareness, she helps her students to embrace and support their unique physical structure and get the most out of each practice to gently strengthen, challenge and stretch the body safely, whilst at the same time relieving tightness and tension.
Mindfulness is at the heart of each class to calm and ground the mind, balance and help settle underlying mental and emotional stresses and anxiety.
Through her group classes and one-to-one sessions, Claire provides her students space to safely access the healing benefits of a functional yoga practice. By learning to move with the body and not against it, and learning to give space to mind and emotion, the overall experience provides for more freedom, shifting from resistance to acceptance, and finding a natural flow and balance for body, mind and soul.
Claire trained with Esther Ekhart who is her core teacher in yoga. She is also greatly influenced by the teachings of Tracey Uber Cook, Paul Grilley, Jose de Groot and Judith Hansen Lassater.
