INTRODUCTION TO OUR RESIDENTIAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSES:

  • 200HR FOUNDATION TEACHER TRAINING COURSE WITH DIPLOMA IN AYURVEDA
  • ADVANCED TEACHER TRAINING COURSES

This is a new and fresh approach to Yoga Teacher Training incorporating Ayurveda and practical teaching methods. The course is run by leading, highly experienced and internationally acclaimed Yoga Trainers. It aims to produce the very highest standards of yoga teachers with the confidence to make a real difference in the future yoga world.

This is a completely immersive and intense residential training approach with limited group numbers. Your stay is in a luxurious and relaxing venue with a spa, sauna, gym and direct woodland access facilities. Everything is designed to enhance your learning experience. Training is all face-to-face over 2 separate weeks and students will enjoy a rapid and deep learning process with traditional Hatha yoga teaching methods.

This is a relatively quick route to a yoga teaching qualification and will provide you with all the practical class teaching skills required to run a successful yoga business.  You will also benefit from acquiring knowledge of Ayurveda through Ayurvedic Yoga, with an introduction to seasonal and doshic diet lifestyle management.

Not only will you gain a YAP 200Hr teacher training qualification but you will also receive a diploma in Ayurvedic Yoga.

We can provide pre and post-course support with an emphasis on anatomy, physiology and ongoing personal mentoring.

We welcome, tutor and support those seeking a deeper understanding of yoga whether this is purely for their own personal yogic development or a desire to teach yoga to others.  We nurture students and teachers with empathy and heartfelt commitment. We offer a safe and positive environment with a compassionate approach to encourage and motivate. We seek to awaken in the student their own ability and combined love of yoga to ignite within themselves and others to follow a path of thoughtful insight. We are committed to the continuous development of meaningful yoga programmes and teacher training courses that continue to increase the impact of health and well-being on our communities and thereby uphold the fundamental principles and ethical standards of yoga, subscribing to Ahimsa (non-violence) Satya (truthfulness) Svadhyaya (self-development).

The student's own health and well-being are of significance to teaching yoga. All students are tutored in the importance of self-care and how to balance their own dosha according to Yoga and Ayurveda. This includes nutrition and ayurvedic practices.

Yogi Health's Foundation Teacher Training Course gives the student the confidence and integrity to teach yoga. This is achieved by receiving a foundation of knowledge in the philosophy and principles of yoga. Supported by the science of Ayurveda, and functional human anatomical systems, meaning understanding how the systems of the body work together. If the student does not have this knowledge they can take the anatomy and physiology module with the course leader 1:1 prior to the foundation course. (Discuss with the course leader).

Students will gain a steady and incremental amount of knowledge and skills through diligent practice, purpose and discipline enabling them to expand and improve throughout the tutorials, asana practice and modules. through the course, they will draw upon their practical skills and knowledge with group discussion, face-to-face adjustment of the practical asana, interactive and immediate question, answer and review sessions, collaborative participation and ' hands-on' adjustment of the practical asana. The supervision from the course leader will be in real-time and feedback and support is given immediately.

The overall course has two major areas, 1 your own practice and personal development. 2. Teaching methods. These areas are explored at all junctures to help you clarify your future yoga journey and personal and teaching development

Students will be asked to apply with honesty regarding their current yoga practice and their reason for wanting to attend the yoga teacher training course, in many cases the foundation course is the first opportunity the student has had for sustained and planned practice and their intention is of interest to the course leader.

For acceptance onto the yoga Teacher Training course, a mutual meeting time is planned, virtually, this is an opportunity for both the student and course leader to discuss any questions about suitability. often the course leader may highlight gaps in the student's current practice and knowledge and therefore suggest the best way in which to prepare for the course, this may involve some mentoring.

After acceptance onto the course, payment will secure a place (payment plans available) and a book list will be sent out. And a time agreed upon for a personalised ayurvedic Health Consultation to prepare for the course

For qualified yoga teachers seeking to increase their yoga qualifications and expertise with advanced diplomas, please note the three courses are delivered with the Prenatal at the beginning of the week and end with the yoga for cancer module - the course follows the natural evolution of the living cycle. this course deals with disorders in various areas, ie postpartum recovery, childbirth, autism, mental health, addiction and cancer and the use of ayurvedic natural methods in conjunction with yoga to bring harmony and balance. The course moves at a productive pace for the qualified yoga teacher and is highly stimulating and enjoyably intensive. The style of yoga you are qualified in will not affect your acceptance into the higher learning course. however, you must hold a minimum Yoga Teacher Training 200hrs certificate. the higher learning course will add 100 hours to your teaching qualification. The course is accredited by Yoga Alliance professionals and the Independent Yoga Network.

- Pregnancy 4 Trimester Diploma

Our course differs from others in that it studies four trimesters not three. We include labour preparation, the actual labour, pregnancy & the birth partner and the overwhelming post-partum recovery of up to six weeks. We then continue up to the first year with mother & child. You will also gain the ability to hold pregnancy workshops that include Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle advice

Children & Teens (including Extra Needs)

Includes children with extra needs such as ADHD, ADD & autism, and how to hold an inclusive children's class for all. Yoga education for our children does not separate the child’s development into physical and mental as it does in school. In yoga, we see the child's yoga education as a whole and in the younger years through play and repetition using the senses. The teen yoga element in the course throws the net wider to encompass a challenging Asana practice for stronger, evolving adolescent bodies. We deal with the challenges faced by teens and how yoga techniques can be beneficial in finding a better understanding of where they are in the universe. We focus on overcoming issues such as relationship problems, sleep regulation, self-esteem, family dynamics and bullying and how yoga offers not only Asana but Pranayama and mindfulness in finding a better sense of self-worth and optimism. Dietary advice for Children (and pregnancy) is something I am asked about more than any other area! This is an important element of this course.

- Yoga for Cancer, Illness Recovery & Mental Health Diploma

Yoga for cancer classes, mental health and addictions classes are increasing in our society, I have certainly seen the demand growth since the first yoga for cancer class I did back in 2005, it is a sad but realistic reflection of the further yogic support and compassion our communities need.

Yoga can help the cancer patient whether they are undergoing chemo or recovering from the rigours of it.  Yoga can improve the overall functioning of the bodily systems, helping rid it of waste matter more efficiently, boosting the endocrine and immune systems and improving overall strength and mobility. The mindfulness aspect of yoga helps to manage the mind and levels of anxiety that multiply with a cancer diagnosis tag. The mental health fallout crisis from the recent pandemic requires no further explanation other than to say we need more yoga, more teachers, and more classes both outside and inside the home. Addictions come in small and large varieties from sugar and nicotine to harder non-prescription drugs, but to the person with the addiction, it permeates every aspect of their life. Specific yoga techniques can support and help in the managing of side effects, boosting immunity and equilibrium and building self-worth & esteem, whilst strengthening the body.
