Overview

I feel incredibly privileged to serve as a yoga teacher, wellbeing practitioner, and meditation guide.

My name is Yasemin Aslan, I'm based in Cambridge, I'm happy to offer my services in-person locally and online to a global audience.

My approach to yoga is rooted in creating a compassionate and mindfull connection with the body, understanding and nurturing the body and overall wellbeing. I believe in empowering individuals to cultivate their self-practice and providing a safe space for the body to open up, grow stronger, and experience true joy. Recognising that each of us has a unique body, I encourage working in harmony with it rather than forcing it to fit into predefined ideals.

My yoga journey began in 2006 when I discovered Hatha Yoga in Istanbul. Since then, I've dedicated myself to deepening my practice mainly in India and Cambridge. I've explored various styles, including Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flows, Somatic practices, and breath work.

During my 200-hour Yoga teacher training with Yogi Mahendra Pardeshi, I had the honour of co-teaching at the beautiful home of yoga, the Little Cove Yoga Retreat. Additionally, I've had the privilege of studying Hatha yoga and meditation with Ravi Dixit, an esteemed teacher based in London and Goa. Following that, I took a step further to specialise in Yin Yoga, I completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Berivan Aslan Sungur, focusing on Paul Grilley's yoga and anatomy approach.

Beyond yoga, I've always had a deep connection with nature and its healing effects. To further explore this passion, I completed an experiential study; "10 Direction Ecotherapy Course" and become a certified Eco-therapist. Under the guidance of Caroline Brazier, course leader of the Tariki Psychotherapy Training Programme at Tariki Trust in the UK, I delved into the Buddhist Psychotherapy approach that deepened my understanding of the profound connection between nature and well-being (2018-2020).

In addition to these studies and practices, I've pursued various other supporting qualifications and courses to expand my knowledge and experties. These include:

NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work, UK
Mental Health First Aid Training - Healthy You, MHFA England
Safeguarding Adults - Level 1, CPD Englad
Optimum Balance Model, Module 1 and Module Family - OBM Founmdation, Tamer Dovucu
Emerging Kind Peer Group Facilitator Training, Cambridge
Facilitation Skills Program, 6 modules, Indigo

With over 15 years of dedicated study and practice, I integrate a diverse range of techniques into my teachings. It's my commitment to support individuals on their journey to holistic well-being, combining the wisdom of yoga, breath work, and meditation.

If you'd like to learn more about my offerings or discuss potential collaborations or projects, please feel free to reach out to me at yaseminaslanyoga@gmail.com. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and supporting others on their path to wellness and self-discovery.

I like that she always pays particular attention to the safety aspects of all the exercises she she does with the class.

I love Yasemin's classes! I started as a complete beginner a couple of years ago and very quickly realised she was the teacher for me, I felt so comfortable despite never having done any yoga before. Yasemin is calm, caring and reliable, and always takes the time to adjust things to the individual needs of the people in the class. Strongly recommended!

Yin yoga with Yasemin is just one of the best selfcare practices. Yasemin's guidance is gentle, caring and clear. During the session you feel so cared for and safe, I always feel as if she reads my mind as to what I need to work on that day. After the session not just you feel stretched but so relaxed and peaceful, it's a wonderful way to close off a busy week and it's an absolute treat for the body and soul. Thank You
