I trained as a ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet and Rambert School of dance, where I completed a 3-year Diploma in Dance. I have been classically trained and fortunate to receive a lifetime of training and mentoring with some wonderful teachers. You all hold a dear place in my heart, and continue to inspire me in all that I do.
From a young age I was introduced to meditation but it wasn’t until later in life, and during my years of dancing that I realized how much I needed to bring a level of balance and harmony into my body. I felt there was something missing and I spent many years wondering what that something was. I was looking for a form of movement that would help bring a feeling of balance.
One day and heavily pregnant, I walked into a yoga class and felt at right at home. The movement of Yoga felt natural within my body and I wanted to deepen my learning. In 2014 I qualified as a yoga teacher making that transition from yoga student to yoga teacher. I believe that my dance background gives me greater understanding of alignment and movement within the body. This understanding supports me in my teaching and I can offer this to my students so that they too can have greater awareness in their own bodies.
I trained with Katy Appleton from appleyoga in 2014. In 2015 I furthered my learning with a pre and post natal yoga qualification.
The dragonfly signifies, happiness, joy, light & transformation.
It has the virtue of living in the moment and living life to the fullest.
“Just like the dragonfly I wish only to be present. So that when I show up in my practice and teaching I discover my own abilities, allowing the transformation to take place and embracing the changes that arise. For me, that is the blessing of yoga.” Me
