In 2016 I had the great pleasure of completing my 200hr YTT through the Association for Yoga and Meditation in Rishikesh, India. For me, I knew I had to go to the birthplace of yoga to learn how to share this wonderful practice with others. From start to finish a huge part of the journey was overcoming my own anxieties to leave me feeling empowered and able to achieve whatever I set my mind and body to, and the one constant through all of this was yoga.
I am teaching hatha and vinyasa yoga, which are the styles I began practising over 10 years ago. I like to bring an element of fun to my lessons, as in my opinion yoga should be done with a smile on your face! It is important that each person attending my class feels valued, comfortable and cared about. For that reason I will always say it’s not about putting ourselves into the “perfect pose”, but about the journey we take in getting there.
Since January 2017 I have also been working in a wellbeing role at a local middle school. This involves teaching yoga to the pupils who are aged nine to thirteen and working with them to facilitate positive mental and physical wellbeing.
