Overview

I am a relative late comer to teaching Yoga. Although i have been practising for many years I did not embark on my Yoga teacher training until my late 40's. It was at this time that i decided i wanted to learn more about yoga and submerge myself in the practice more deeply. I randomly chose the YTT i was to attend in Thailand and so began my journey of change. The training was challenging, i felt completely broken by the 2nd week but i had a truly inspirational teacher who assured me that the team would help rebuild and re-vitalise me and that is exactly what happened. I left the course feeling more healthy than i had ever felt and completely focused on making yoga a major part of my life. I had been nursing for 30 years and on my return changed my hours so that i would have more time to develop my own yoga practice and to run classes and yoga activities.

Classes take place at the Florence Nightingale Village hall in Holloway, near Matlock on a Sunday evening at 6pm -7 15 pm. The class focuses on a strong, dynamic Vinyasa flow as well as Pranayama.

Our last workshop was held just before Christmas and accompanied by candlelight. The 3 hour work shop introduced many new yogis to pranayama, Vinyasa flow, Yin Yoga and meditation. A Christmas buffet was enjoyed by all afterwards. The next yoga workshop will be in the Spring, details will be published

Our Greek Retreats have been a huge success. They are held on a small remote Greek island, with just a handful of restaurants, tavernas and 1 hotel. Our accommodation overlooks the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. A strong Vinyas class starts early in the morning for 1.5-2 hours, followed be pranayama. In the evening we have 1,5 Yin Yoga followed by meditation. In addition to this there are daily lectures from our Ayurvedic Practitioner. It really is a magical week. Details will be published on my dashboard.

In addition to these activities i also contribute the local patient groups such as the pelvic floor group and the cancer support group by running yoga sessions aimed at encouraging self esteem, self worth, balance, hope and a sense of wellbeing.

I am absolutely passionate about yoga and maintain a disciplined self practice every day. My mission is to develop my own physical practice and mindfullness and do whatever i can to facilitate that journey in others.
