IRINA’S YOGA BIOGRAPHY

Irina has been an inspired, steadfast yoga practitioner for over 20 years and has been teaching since 2008.

Her first 1,800 hours Teacher Training with additional two-year apprenticeship were with Shimon Ben-Avi, a profound Israeli philosopher and yogi, at the Israeli Ashtanga Yoga Teachers Academy.

Since 2006 Irina has studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with John Scott in New Zealand, completing his Teachers Training in 2009 and continuing learning from John for many years.

Since 2016 Irina has been studying intensively with Gregor Maehle and Monica Gauci, renown yoga educators from Australia, becoming their approved teacher in 2021.

By 2022 Irina has under her sleeve more than 3,000 hours of Teacher Training and 13 years of teaching experience of what she loves the most, the magics of yoga.

In 2017, after moving to the UK, Irina built a yoga school in West Sussex, called Iriness Yoga Horsham. There she teaches Ashtanga yoga, yoga therapy, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy.

Being recognised by the Yoga Alliance Professionals as a Senior Yoga Teacher and Teachers’ Trainer, - Irina works with both yoga beginners and yoga teachers, meeting each and every student where they are, helping them deepen their understanding and experiences of yoga, of life, of themselves.

IRINA INTENTION

Irina sees yoga as a healing instrument for our mental, emotional & physical states, as well as a vehicle to fly beyond the body-breath-mind continuum, realising our Divine nature and interconnectedness. She is passionate about yogic education in a precise, authentic and, at the same time, modern way. She adapts practices to the students and loves working with as diverse a group of people as possible.

While she takes yoga practice very seriously, she loves humour, bringing light-heartedness, fun and laughs to her teachings too.

Irina’s teaching focus is Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, yoga as a therapy and the higher limbs of yoga: pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, and dhyana.

She aspires to help yoga teachers dive deeper, get more comfortable with the higher limbs of yoga on both theoretical and experiential level, so they can share freely and confidently the undiluted gifts of yoga.

I did the CPD Pranayama and Meditation course Part 1 with Irina. I wanted to gain wider exposure to breath work and meditation. The course was delivered on-line with recording available afterwards. I enjoyed the 8 classes very much and feel I made a very good start in my exploration of breath and meditation and the higher limbs of Yoga. Irina is a lovely teacher; knowledgeable, inspiring and patient. I highly recommend this course to anyone considering a pranayama course

I thoroughly enjoyed doing Irina's recent Pranayama and Meditation course. I found her teaching to be clear, well-paced and interesting, plus it helped me start establishing a regular pranayama practise after many years of asana practise. Irina taught with a warmth and humility which was both admirable and welcoming as a student. I would highly recommend her courses for those interested :-)

I highly recommend Irina's Pranayama and Meditation CPD course! Whether you already practice or want to learn more about this fascinating and effective practice, Irina's teaching is joyful, passionate and insightful. Her instructions are easy to follow and encouraging you to learn and practice with a smile. I have taken part in all 3 levels and have done level 1 again, because I wanted to enjoy a refresh with Irina. I appreciate the ability to catch up on recorded sessions because I live abroad and work and cannot always take part live. Thank you Irina.

I feel very privileged to have been part of Irina’s Ashtanga CPD earlier this year. Irina so generously shares her extensive knowledge and creates a nurturing space to learn, share and develop as a teacher but also personally. No question goes unanswered. I feel my practice has an added depth and I teach with a new confidence. It more than met my expectations and I continue to integrate and absorb the information Irina shared throughout the course. Irina lives yoga and the joy it brings is evident and infectious. I enjoyed and benefited from the course so much that I am starting Irina’s Pranayama and Meditation CPD course in October. I can’t wait to continue my yoga journey with Irina.
