IRINA’S YOGA BIOGRAPHY
Irina has been an inspired, steadfast yoga practitioner for over 20 years and has been teaching since 2008.
Her first 1,800 hours Teacher Training with additional two-year apprenticeship were with Shimon Ben-Avi, a profound Israeli philosopher and yogi, at the Israeli Ashtanga Yoga Teachers Academy.
Since 2006 Irina has studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with John Scott in New Zealand, completing his Teachers Training in 2009 and continuing learning from John for many years.
Since 2016 Irina has been studying intensively with Gregor Maehle and Monica Gauci, renown yoga educators from Australia, becoming their approved teacher in 2021.
By 2022 Irina has under her sleeve more than 3,000 hours of Teacher Training and 13 years of teaching experience of what she loves the most, the magics of yoga.
In 2017, after moving to the UK, Irina built a yoga school in West Sussex, called Iriness Yoga Horsham. There she teaches Ashtanga yoga, yoga therapy, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy.
Being recognised by the Yoga Alliance Professionals as a Senior Yoga Teacher and Teachers’ Trainer, - Irina works with both yoga beginners and yoga teachers, meeting each and every student where they are, helping them deepen their understanding and experiences of yoga, of life, of themselves.
IRINA INTENTION
Irina sees yoga as a healing instrument for our mental, emotional & physical states, as well as a vehicle to fly beyond the body-breath-mind continuum, realising our Divine nature and interconnectedness. She is passionate about yogic education in a precise, authentic and, at the same time, modern way. She adapts practices to the students and loves working with as diverse a group of people as possible.
While she takes yoga practice very seriously, she loves humour, bringing light-heartedness, fun and laughs to her teachings too.
Irina’s teaching focus is Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, yoga as a therapy and the higher limbs of yoga: pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, and dhyana.
She aspires to help yoga teachers dive deeper, get more comfortable with the higher limbs of yoga on both theoretical and experiential level, so they can share freely and confidently the undiluted gifts of yoga.
