Overview

Hello,

Overview:

I teach Sanskrit for Yogis, Philosophy and Psychology of Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Mindful Restorative Yoga. At present, I teach in the UK but have experience of teaching in India and elsewhere and am available by appointment.

Yoga Teacher Training:

I teach Sanskrit and Philosophy in Yoga Teacher Training Schools. These include Smart Qualifications led by Helena Bingham in Peterborough, Mindflow Yoga led by Sarah O' Connor in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and Clarity Yoga, led by Melanie Clarity in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

Organisation and Public Classes:

I specialise in teaching Mindfulness and Meditation, both individually (one to one) and in a variety of group setting.

I have taught over 150 students one to one. Each student commits to approximately 40 hours of training and personal practice and learns a special mantra meditation technique based on her/his date, time and place of birth. The programme includes appropriate mindfulness and yoga posture training.

I teach Meditation and Yoga in Schools to age groups 13 - 18. I have taught Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation in Corporate, Education and Healthcare settings as well as in Open group public classes. (The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living, Herts.)

Self Study:

I trained in Sanskrit and philosophy of Yoga in India, (1950 -1966). Later in the UK [1966-1998], I did advanced meditation training in Mindfulness, Transcendental Meditation Siddha programme [TM Siddhi], and completed teachers training in meditation and basic Ayurveda with Dr Deepak Chopra and Dr David Simon of the Chopra Centre in California. All of these programmes included appropriate classic Yoga posture training. My later training (2001 - 2016) included Yoga for Health Foundation at Ickwell Bury, Bedfordshire, The University of Exeter, UK, for Mindfulness in Schools, Courses in the clinical application of Mindfulness from the National Institute of Clinical & Behavioural Medicine in the Connecticut, USA and the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies for The philosophy of Yoga. I have a doctorate in Philosophy of Science from London [1975] and am a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine, London.

Service to Community:

In 2010 I founded the Inner Peace Centre for Conscious Living in Letchworth Garden City, which helps people stay healthier for longer through meditation, yoga and nutrition. During this time The Inner Peace Centre has helped several hundred people, many with critical illnesses. The Centre has raised over £50,000.00 for improving the quality of life of terminally ill people.

Thank you for reading this profile. I look forward to hearing from you.

Namaste,

Neelam Taneja
