Overview

As a dancer in training and whilst dancing professionally I came across yoga in its various forms as a way to increase my strength and range of movement and to help to keep me injury free. As a teacher of dance in later years I found that my technique class warm ups became more and more yoga inspired until eventually I was persuaded by my yoga teacher at the time (Mark Freeth) that I really should do a teacher training in yoga and take up the yoga teaching mantle. I've not looked back since.

Initially I trained in Astanga and then completed my 200hr training in a more thrilling and creative style of Vinyasa with The Freestyle Yoga Project. I like that I can play around with the content of what I offer to meet the demands of the students who present themselves to me and that the choreographer in me gets to build interesting sequences to keep both myself and the students on their toes.

I love sharing yoga with all who come to my classes. I am currently teaching across the whole age range from reception and year 1 children in a school setting to over 70s in evening classes and everything in between. I spent 4 years living in the French Alps teaching yoga to many active and athletic people, French and International, including working with local ski clubs and ex-world champion skiers. While there I studied Vinyasa and Yin Yoga with Cecile Roubard. I feel that I am continually learning through yoga and am able to continue to challenge myself physically and mentally at a time in life when I had expected to be slowing down. It is never too late to start your yoga journey and reap the many rewards it can offer.
