TESTIMONIALS

This investment was the best money I have spent since doing my training. Pip’s well planned and delivered workshops oozed with invaluable advice, tips and passion. It has been such a privilege and I have learned so much and have been given further confidence and direction for my business and vision. I genuinely feel like our paths were meant to cross, thanks to Pip I run a yoga business teaching kids and adult yoga which I love. With Pip’s calm, objective and caring way, I am now beginning to see how I can better manage my business to make it every success that I dream it to be. Thank you Pip – Ali

I really loved this programme. I was able to hone in on what it was i uniquely offered and bring this to my teaching and workshops. Got so much confidence and practical support from this. Thanks pip - Gail

Thank you for mentoring me Pip. Not only you have supported me in getting my classes and event organised but you created a community of teachers supporting each other. Thank you: the one to one sessions have been tremendous help and I highly recommend it to any teachers who like me, need focus and direction in their yoga career. - Sabrina

Students

Katie - Pip always makes me feel comfortable and safe. Her energy, wisdom, passion and care is incredible. Not only does she take the time to help you build your foundations safely but shares her amazing knowledge and passion, teaching about the real yoga of the mind and awareness of the body as a beautiful instrument, always reminding us there is no room for ego or comparison on the mat. Highly recommend anyone to attend anything that pip is part of as she is definitely becoming a huge influence and part of my journey

Natalie - I’ve been to a few yoga classes over the years but have only recently attended some of pips workshops, she’s hands down the best yoga teacher I’ve been, very knowledgeable and completely puts you at ease no matter what level you are at. Highly recommend a class with pip!

Jo - Pips classes are the best I've ever experienced and I have tried yoga in a number of places, including London & New Zealand & have never got as much from yoga before or ever been so inspired to develop my own true practice.
I just find Pip massively knowledgable, kind and engaging. Her classes are invigorating, well thought out and push you to experience a real yoga, the type that makes you float out of the class and feel like you can start again to tackle the world!

Article from Yoga Magazine  -  Pip Taverner, Teacher of the month.

My ongoing journey with yoga started slow and steady but will be familiar to many.  Living in London in my twenties with a full on social life and a highly pressured managerial role, I felt burnt out and knew I needed something to counterbalance my lifestyle.

I went along to my first yoga class in a big name gym and ‘had a go’ quickly discovering I had little body awareness and zero flexibility. A little seed of determination was sown and I persevered with regular Hatha beginner’s classes.

After a few years I discover the power of Jivamukti and my passion for a dynamic and playful practice was born. Soon the positive vibes started to ripple and Friday nights in the pub were swapped for “Jiva” and green tea. I was hooked!

A natural progression into Mysore-style Ashtanga and I had found my deepest connection to a yoga practice yet. It taught me discipline and dedication, bringing about a profound realisation to my true self and a focus I’d not encountered before. The breath, the Sanskrit count and my practice remains my meditation; my path to awareness.

In 2013 I embarked on a yoga teacher training with Brian Cooper of Union Yoga and I haven’t stopped developing my knowledge since, with three extended trips to India studying in Mysore under Yogacharya Vinay Kumar. I have been privileged to attend teacher-training workshops run by, or practiced under the guidance of, John Scott, David Keil, Dena Kingsberg and Joey Miles. The always-smiling Scott Johnson of Stillpoint Yoga London is my go-to Ashtanga teacher and guide in this method.

When I teach my intention is to enable my students to feel empowered and be individualistic in their approach; to experience their own path of self-realisation; to practice with joy and to always feel totally supported. I bring the uplifting power of electro and house music to my Vinyasa classes and have created Groove Om Yoga, a sequin-filled yoga experience at boutique festivals and clubs combining Vinyasa flow, a live DJ and audiovisuals.

In 2015, together with my friend of over twenty years Naz (a passionate and talented cook), we created Tonic Retreats and host events blending our shared love of yoga, food and music.  We return twice yearly to vibrant Marrakech, taking residence in a historic tranquil riad, and are hosting Scott Johnson there in October 2017 for an Ashtanga Mysore style retreat. Based in Dorset we run New Forest & beach events and offer private, bespoke retreats in the UK and abroad. With more exotic destinations on the cards we are going from strength to strength and I am blessed to be able to truly love what I do.

Pip Yoga in Bournemouth and Marrakesh

Hi, I have been on two yoga retreats in Marrakesh which were taught by Pip, and also went to her class in Bournemouth. She is a brilliant teacher- in my case as a beginner she made it very approachable and enjoayble- sharing her passion and knowledge. I love her attitude that it is not a competitive sport or a work out, but something more meaningful for yourself alone on your matt. I also love the deep understanding she has of the spritual side of the practise and it's history. She is also great fun. Probably the biggest compliment I can give is that she has already got me to the point where I can happily do it on my own. Thanks for everything Jonathan

    Vinyassa and Ashtanga

Pip provides a great balance between meditative and energetic Vinyassa (often mixed with a great soundtrack), as well as traditional Ashtanga (Primary series) classes. Her communication with all levels of students in the glass is excellent. Pip keeps the glasses motivational and varied - you never quite know what to expect, but you can be sure to love it! She demonstrates the possible complexities with the asanas - all delivered with a smiling, friendly face, grace and elegance!

Pip your class is my absolute favourite and you are the epitome of how I imagine the 'perfect yogini', if there is such a thing, to be. Thank you for your support, advice and signposting information too I knew that you would be the right person to ask.
