Overview

I am a certified 200h Yoga Alliance Professionals Hatha yoga teacher with a further 100h training in Ayurveda.

Having practiced Yoga for most of my life, my desire to deepen my practice led me to embark on a Teacher Training course. I trained with Akhanda Yoga both in London and at the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh, India where I received one of the most holistic and traditional trainings and gained a deeper understanding on the philosophy, roots and healing benefits of Yoga.

I am also a certified Yin yoga teacher and feel very passionate about its practice and the benefits it can bring in today’s busy world.

My classes have a slow flow combined with some Yin postures and I encourage my students to nurture themselves through their practice, that includes mindfulness and pranayama, with a compassionate and yet challenging approach.

My aim is to help them to strengthen the body and relax the mind to support their wellbeing on and off the mat.

I teach private as well as corporate classes and have been working with front line workers from the London Ambulance Service since November 2018.

During the Covid19 pandemic classes are being offered online via Zoom platform.

I was first referred to Alex because of lower back and neck pains and was worried about that and of course self conscious at never having done this before Alex was able to tailor her classes to be beneficial to all and is very conscious of those who need help without losing focus on everyone else, she is generally calm, polite, friendly, Alex's enthusiasm for her classes can be infectious she obviously enjoys each class which can be sensed in the positive atmosphere sh creates, she is also patient teacher, i never felt self conscious about any of the poses i assassinated and would gladly recommend her to everyone

Alex is an excellent yoga instructor: her sessions - in person and in their current virtual form - are well-structured and varied with just the right mix of spirituality and reflection, breathing and relaxation, and postures of varying difficulty with adjustments according to skill level. She is attentive and has a clear and calm delivery, and I always feel more accomplished and physically and mentally relaxed after her classes. Thoroughly recommended, thanks Alex!

Alessandra's classes feel so nurturing and nourishing. They incorporate yoga philosophy, and pranayama alongside exceptionally clear instructions - but without talking too much..... a difficult balance which Alex has definitely mastered! Alex takes time to understand the needs and limitations of individuals in the class and is very responsive to any questions. She is a natural teacher, who clearly loves her work and her students. Thank you Alex, especially for your support and dedication through the difficult times in lockdown

I’ve attended Alex’s sessions on/off for a year now , she is a great coach , super relaxed & informed . She brings along some great authentic sounds to help with the setting and I’ve really appreciated the help she’s given me as a beginner.
