Overview

I have over 10,000 hours of teaching experience since qualifying in my 200 hours with Yoga Alliance under Paul Jerard of Aura Wellness in 2009. Although my classes are constantly evolving, I continue to teach a challenging and dynamic practice that heals and detoxifies the body and mind. Emphasising awareness through precision and meditation in motion, my classes challenge the body, engage the mind and quicken the spirit, underpinned with motivational readings and traditional philosophy linking what is learnt on the mat to every day life.

I have continued my training with several internationally recognised teachers, including Dr Melody Moore, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jason Crandell and Taylor Harkness and, under the tutelage of senior London teacher Naomi Absalom, have completed  2 years in her Liberate and Elevate mentoring programme. I have completed my 500 hours, am a recognised Senior Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and a certified facilitator trainer for the nonprofit US organisation, Embody Love Movement, guiding girls and women on a transformational journey towards self-acceptance.

In 2011, I founded Twisted Yoga, holding classes in my garden studio at home. Since then, my partner Alex, and I have opened two studios, in High Barnet and Bounds Green. Classes there are not only about sculpting and toning the body, they're also about building confidence and encouraging personal development, no matter age, ability, size or shape. That’s the beauty of yoga. It rejects no one, and accepts everyone. It encourages us to be ourselves, embrace our natural gifts, find discipline in the areas we may be lacking and learn to accept and love our true self.

I've been attending Nighean's classes for almost 10 years which have helped me understand my body and also get in tune with myself. Through Nighean's detailed knowledge of the body she provides insightful descriptions of muscle engagement and adjustments which takes your practice to a different level. It's a completely different experience to teaching I've experienced at gyms and online. Initially I was nervous about the spiritual side of yoga but Nighean tends to start and finish with a poem or short reading and intention which sets the tone beautifully. I honestly feel I've become a kinder person through this as my personal and professional relationships have improved. The playlists are always good too. If you have a chance to attend Nighean's yoga classes I really encourage you to take it.

I've been practicing with Nighean since 2018 when I started as a complete beginner to yoga. Nighean smashed all my preconceptions of yoga and she has helped me on a path to better fitness, strength and flexibility. Without fail, her classes are varied, challenging and fun with attention to detail, patient instruction, fantastic soundtracks and luxurious use of essential oils. I can't recommend Nighean highly enough.

Every class of Nighean’s are an absolute treat. She teaches really dynamic classes that not only build strength and flexibility but also has a great focus on the mental well-being benefits of yoga. The readings Nighean thoughtfully selects for class resonate so much and leave you not only physically, but mentally enlightened. She is the reason I have kept up yoga practice. Her teaching and practice is second to none.

Nighean is an excellent yoga teacher. She is very good at focusing on everyone in the room and offering differing levels depend on ability. Good mix of strong and ease. It’s always about the individual’s yoga practice and everyone is made to feel welcome.

I have only been doing yoga for under a year but I immediately fell in love with practicing yoga and more so when I started being taught by Nighean after being taught by Nighean regularly I can really feel and a big progress in my yoga practice each week and it feels so rewarding. Nighean really helps each individual push themself to there best ability but in a gentle encouraging way. I leave each class with more knowledge and a feeling of empowerment as i know if I continue & keep it up i will be able to really improve my yoga practice with Nighean’s help. She’s a fantastic teacher.
