Overview

My first yoga lesson was back in April 2007.  Since then, my passion for yoga has allowed me to continue to explore and practice yoga regularly.

An opportunity arose for me to attend a traditional Hatha Yoga teacher training course with Shiva Shakti Yoga in India.  Learning yoga where it all started was the most amazing experience .  I’m always keen to learn and want to share what I've learnt.  Yoga is not a job, it is my choice of lifestyle!   I will continue to develop myself so I can grow not only as a yoga teacher, but as a student too.  Using all that I've learnt, my intention is for all students to leave class feeling revitalised so they can find a balance in their lives.

Classes are taught with an emphasis on breath and alignment in a non-competitive environment.  Hatha and vinyasa are combined, with gentle or dynamic asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing techniques); variation asanas are included to suit the individual and alignments are checked.  I encourage students to ‘let go’ of their thoughts and be present, once the class commences.   A guided meditation is also part of the practice, bringing balance into the mind and body. Part of the meditation includes a blissful sound bath, using a Himalayan singing bowl to invite tranquility, wholeness and peace within oneself, creating the ultimate relaxation experience.

Other areas of training include Yin and restorative yoga.  Previous experience teaching the visually impaired.

- Corporate and school wellbeing classes in Croydon.  Having worked in the corporate world for over 18 years; I am well aware of the need for employees to be in a good mental and physical shape in order to get  the best productivity out of them.  Yoga was my go-to relaxation technique during high periods of stress at work.

Sandra stood in for our regular yoga teacher for over a month. I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable and understanding of our individual needs. She communicated the instructions clearly and adjusted and corrected our postures when required. The lessons were well planned and different week on week. Personally she is very approachable and friendly. I would definitely recommend her.

Tuesday Evening Yoga Class in Anerley, London

I have always struggled to find Yoga an interesting form of relaxation and exercise, but since being introduced to Sandra's yoga classes I have found a new fondness for Yoga. There is something special about Sandra's classes, maybe it's the time she takes to make sure that all clients are comfortable with the poses and that there is a suitable pose that fits the need of the client especially if they have any injuries or movements that they find uncomfortable or difficult. Sandra really does engage with her clients and for me takes me on beautiful Yoga journey every Tuesday evening. I think what makes Sandra's classes extra special is that this is not just a job for Sandra but a love and a passion and this clearly is expressed in each of her classes. Each of Sandra's classes create not only a great workout but a real fulfilling sense of satisfaction and empowerment. Thank you Sandra for loving what you do and ensuring that this comes through in all of your classes .

Sandra and me spend one month together during out yoga teacher training in Goa, India and I am very grateful for having met her. Sandra is an extremely sweet and caring woman. This comes also out during her teaching. She makes sure that everybody feels amazing in her lessons and gives a lot of individual support and tips. Sandra builds up creative lessons, she has a pleasant voice and gives clear instructions. Her love for yoga is always present. She is a very inspiring woman and I can 100 % recommend joining one of her classes.
