Overview

Hi there, I have been practicing yoga since I was 18 years and now at 55 years I am mainly teaching yoga on paddleboards, although I still have a few classes on land. 

I started my yoga training in Brussels, then moved to Aruba where we only taught outside and I really missed that connection with nature when I returned to the UK 14 years later. Luckily for me I moved close to the River Thames and for the past 4 years I have spent more time teaching yoga on the water than on land.  When I am teaching indoors I ask students to imagine the mat is floating on the water, then the transitioning from one move to another is  more mindful. and slow.  As soon as I am on my board I included yoga at the beginning, the middle and the end of each session. 

 My daughters have left home now and my husband has joined me this year  so we have more time to develop our Paddleboard School and organically  introduce every student to yoga!

    Tara is an enthusiastic teacher who is able to adjust her teaching to the requirements of the group, changing if necessary the range of the movements as our group ages. I have learned to use the breathing techniques to help me relax and be calmer. Without these classes my flexibility would be far less and my balance worse. I have Tara to thank for a lot .

    I was advised to try Tara’s yoga class after having difficulty keeping up with other groups. It was like coming home. I have improved my strength and flexibility although I am still stiff from tennis injuries on my left leg. Tara has a great sense of humour which helps the class go along. She has made me think differently about my body and I try to incorporate better methods when gardening and doing domestic work. I hope to continue and find improvement.

    I have been practicing yoga with Tara for just over 5 years. The lessons are perfect to loosen my tight muscles after sitting at a desk all day. If you have any physical issues Tara will focus on them with you during the class and give advice on how to continue whilst at home. My flexibility and muscle strength has improved immensely from her classes and I feel much fitter, both physically and mentally.

    I have been attending Tara’s specialist yoga exercise class for people with Parkinson’s Disease for several years now. I have found the class very helpful in my bid to maintain my mobility. She is greatly encouraging, empathetic, challenging at times (which is good) and above all the class is fun & enjoyable.
