If you are looking for a relaxing massage treatment, or are interested in starting or developing a yoga practice, you have come to the right place. 

Hi, I’m Laurence. An experienced Yoga instructor and Massage Therapist currently based in Sudbury, Suffolk. I teach Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga, give guided Yoga Nidra Meditations, and offer Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatments. My focus is on relaxation, understanding, and play. 


About Me:


Known to some as Laurie, and others Laurence and yet others still as Larry, he goes by many names. One day Laurence went to a Yoga lesson. Skip forward Nine exciting years (filled with drama, passion, laughter and more than a little Yoga, in the form of a montage if you like) and Laurence is now a fully certified Yoga instructor and massage therapist himself, and a registered member of the UK Yoga Alliance.

He has been teaching for 6 years and now currently splits his time between The UK and India. He loves to teach and massage when and where ever he can. He specialises in Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra meditation, and Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, but he also has a funky passion for a rigorous Ashtanga practice.

“I am very happy to be teaching in the Sudbury area once more. I came to yoga by chance, and it was a life changing experience for me. I immediately noticed that my body and mind felt lighter, like I had released some past emotional pain through simply stretching and breathing! That was in 2009, since then I haven’t  stopped practicing and exploring the potential that yoga has. It still amazes me everytime I practice. Suffice to say my physical body has become stronger and more flexible and still continues to improve. I am more confident, and generally happier within my own skin and life. I want to share this with everyone. Whilst of course I cannot and would not guarantee that practicing Yoga will have the same results for everybody. I do believe that the tools that we have in yoga are very powerful. It is my passion and joy to share these tools so that everyone can have the same opportunity to make lasting positive changes in their life.”

By combining elements of Ashtanga with traditional alignment based Hatha Yoga, I have created this class aimed at students who want to develop their own a dynamic, invigorating Yoga practice that will nourish mind, body and soul. The classes are structured in a very similar way each week, and you will learn some basic meditation techniques, Sun Salutations, standing poses, strength building exercises, traditional seated postures and movements, and deep relaxation techniques. This class is open to students of all levels. You will be encouraged to find your own limits and pace within the practice, always honouring what your body is capable of. Through repetition you will quickly notice that your body is becoming more supple, stronger and your mind more equanimous. Sounds good huh? so why not come and join us every week as we safely cover the basics and learn how to build and develop your own yoga practice in a fun and engaging way. I keep the classes fun and it is my mission not only to guide you through your practice but also to take time to explain the reasons we do each specific movement or posture, and and what effects it can have on the body. My aim in doing this is to give you a practice that you feel confident doing on your own, anywhere, anytime and can be used to maintain optimal physical and mental health. Sounds good right? Incorporating meditation with physical stretches, strength building exercises and deep physical relaxation techniques you will learn through repetition how to use these yogic techniques to improve your physical and mental well being. Ayurvedic Yoga Massage therapy is a powerful tool, which can not only make a big difference in helping our bodies behave correctly, and reduce symptoms of pain, but also is very useful in helping us deal with everyday stress and anxiety. Regular massage can be incorporated into a healthy lifestyle and will also act as a preventative against musculoskeletal problems developing. 

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a modern style of massage that was developed in India, by master Kusum Modak. She combined traditional Ayurvedic Massage techniques with her knowledge yoga postures and breathwork to create a holistic and remedial therapy that is a relaxing deep tissue massage and an invigorating yoga lesson where your muscles are gently and safely stretched by the therapist. This means that you get the best of both massage and a yoga lesson.

There are many different techniques that I can choose from when creating a treatment. This versatility means that I am able to tailor a specific treatment for your own personal needs. Whether you want a relaxing 30 minute stress release, or a longer deep tissue massage with assisted stretches to really work out the tension from the heart of the muscles, I will work with you to create the treatment that you need.

Friday Evening Yoga Nidra Relaxation in Norwich: Bi-Weekly

I am very happy to be running a regular Yoga Nidra class at the Yoga Studio Norwich. The classes will be on the last Friday of every month 

Yoga Nidra is a deeply relaxing meditation practice

Practiced lying on the floor, Yoga Nidra meditation combines deep relaxation methods with dreamlike visualisation techniques to help you achieve a state of physical, mental, and emotional relaxation and inner calm whilst cultivating the mental tools necessary to help you achieve and manifest your life goals.
