Overview

As a medical doctor and public health physician working in senior leadership roles across the NHS and local government, I have a passion for unleashing human excellence through promoting wellbeing, preventing illness and improving quality of life from pre birth to later years in life.

Although Yoga has been known to mankind since pre historic times, there is a growing scientific evidence that mind-body awareness and meditation/mindfulness practices can help people to realise their full potential and live in good health - particularly in maintaining activities of daily living until later in life and also helping to manage stress. This is especially critical for people in responsible and leadership roles in our society, and for high performing organisations - as their mind set and actions will affect many more in the society and our environment.

Inspired by my own lived experience through practicing various types of yoga since childhood and the growing scientific evidence, I have started the Yoga4All campaign with a vision to make yoga accessible and relevant to people from all walks of life in the U.K and beyond. My special interests include exploring and applying the link between individuals, society and nature for achieving inner and world peace.

I have been fortunate to complete the Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY) master training (Arulnidhi) established by Vethathiri Maharishi, who established the World Community Service Centre and Temple of Consciousness in Aliyar, India.

SKY is a personality development programme. It comprises of Asanas, Pranayamas, Kayakalpa Yoga, basic and advanced meditation, Introspection techniques, sublimation, self realisation and perfection. In addition, aspirants also learn about soul, biomagnetism and origins of the universe (Brahmagnanam) as described in ancient literature that is still relevant from senior and experienced Masters. Those who practice regularly achieve excellence through good health and wellbeing, inner peace, wisdom and self realisation.

The following is covered in our sessions:

  • Simplified physical exercises and asanas to maintain strength and balance throughout life, including sun salutation or Surya Namaskaram
  • Pranayama and neuromuscular breathing techniques
  • Kabalapathi
  • 14 point acupressure techniques
  • Divine sleep and relaxation techniques
  • Kayakalpa Yoga for health, longevity, and maintaining youth
  • Initiation of Kundalini (life energy) at Agna chakra and mooladhara chakra to start your journey of self realisation
  • Meditation and mindfulness
  • Introspection techniques to manage stress, avoidance of anger and eradication of worries

As a network of SKY masters, we are available to conduct personality development programmes across the UK, particularly in London, Birmingham, Lancashire and Cambridgeshire areas.
