As the seasons change once again, why not take some time out for yourself to rest, centre yourself and allow your mind to settle in stillness.

As we allow the mental chatter of our mind to quieten and our bodies to deeply settle, we can begin to perceive the constant and subtle changes in our body, emotions and mental patterns. Through a regular practice in this way we can become attuned to the impermanence and constant change of everything in life, helping us to understand that everything in our lives - both what we perceive as positive and negative - will pass. In this way, we are better equipped to deal with difficult times when they arise in our lives.

The afternoon will include some restorative yoga to deeply relax, release and open the body; some gentle hip opening to prepare the body to sit comfortably in meditation; simple Pranayama (breathing techniques) to calm the nervous system and prepare the mind for resting in stillness; and will culminate in a guided meditation practice.

This workshop is for everyone interested in slowing down, connecting more deeply to the present moment and finding more calm and peace in their busy lives, and complete beginners to yoga and meditation are very welcome.

You will be given a handout with some guidelines to help you to establish or continue with your own meditation practice at home, along with some recommendations for further reading and daily inspirations for your own practice.

You will leave the workshop feeling both deeply relaxed and nurtured. And hopefully you will have a renewed enthusiasm to commit to a both a regular meditation and relaxation practice, to take time each day to simply sit quietly, to connect with the present moment and the deep inner wisdom that lies behind the busy veil of thoughts.
