After practising yoga for about 10 years my current teacher announced she was registering to train yoga teachers and I decided to join the course to further my knowledge but at that time had no intention of teaching.
The course, a 200 hour Hatha teacher training with Karina Stewart of Pink Lotus Yoga in Aberdeen, started in April 2014 and by the time I qualified in June 2015 (on the first International Day of Yoga) I knew I had to teach and spread the love of yoga!
During the course we had to observe other teacher's classes. I observed a pregnancy yoga class and loved the energy and strength of the beautiful mums-to-be, so after qualifying as a teacher I undertook further training courses (88hours) in Pregnancy and Post Natal Yoga with Cherie Lathey of Yogamama in Putney, London. I've also completed further training with Yogamama to become a Fertility Yoga teacher.
I took a Yin Teacher Training with Dawn Wright in 2018 and have taken advanced Yin modules on acupressure and AcuYin, myofascial release MyoYin and Chinese Medicine with Jo Phee, the "creator" of Yin Yoga Paul Grilley’s senior assistant.
I'm blessed to be able to teach a variety of classes to a wide range of students - from medal winning teenage athletes to students in their 70's, mums-to-be and new mums, complete beginners and those with an established practice. Everyone brought together by the wonderful physical and emotional benefits of yoga.
I'm still very much a student myself and for the last three years have been undertaking advanced study of anatomy and Yin Yoga with Jo Phee and have been fortunate to be able to practise with some fantastic teachers over the years including David Keil, Scott Johnson and James Boag, as well as attending classes and workshops locally and abroad.
