How's the posture these days?

How's the posture these days?

In a regular yoga class we will move the body through the three planes of movement, sagittal, (forward and backward), transverse, (twisting) and frontal (side to side)l, it’s what the muscular skeletal system is designed to do, not by accident but evolution. We live in a three-dimensional world. Our bodies need the ability to move in all three dimensions.Poor range of motion and instability in just a single joint can cause overcompensation. These alternate movement patterns can lead to chronic pain and injury. By improving three-dimensional movement, you reduce your risk for injury and are more likely to achieve your fitness (and life) goals, if you don’t move it, you’ll lose it.Therefore, the physical attributes of yoga are so relevant to life today, not to mention the holistic benefits which are just as relevant. The more recent demands on the body when working from home will, in my opinion, create a rise in postural issues and there is no magic pill that will resolve months of poor posture.I am including yoga postures and sequences into all of my classes that target the areas highlighted by my colleague in this picture. Through regular movement and holding these postures will inform people how tight they are and provide a solution they can work with independently.Public classes starting in Spencer's Wood in June, pre book only, spaces limited or 1:1 Range of Movement Assessments and personalised practice  plans on request
