This unique teacher training combines ancient Yoga principles with contemporary body psychotherapeutic approaches and theories. It’s a highly experiential training based on the assumption that in order to be compelling and authentic teachers, we need to teach from an embodied place.

The training combines online and in person modules and teachings, reflecting the changed landscape and skill requirements of modern yoga teachers. It’s a journey over nine months allowing time in between modules for integration and digestion.

The intention of this programme is to teach you:

How to sequence and teach a yoga class, taking into consideration different skill levels and injuries.
How to modify poses and work with what emerges in the room.
How to hold space: physically, energetically and emotionally.
How to connect to oneself and the students.
How to do hands-on assists safely and in a connected way.
How to teach authentically and from an embodied place.
How to work with emotions, stress and trauma in the yoga room.
How to develop skills to be present and take care of oneself, including body psychotherapeutic skills of centring, boundaries, grounding and connection.

This training creates room to explore and connect to who you truly are, creating space for a deeper acceptance of yourself. It hopes to spark curiosity about your own process as well as the process of the people you will be working with.

This teacher training is limited to 8 people to give you the attention, space and feedback you need to grow into an excellent teacher.

Breakdown:

Asana and pranayama: 35%.
Teaching practice and methodology, including alignment, hands-on assists, psychotherapy process, principles and theory: 48%.
Anatomy and physiology: 13%.
Yoga history and context: 2%.
Business: 2%.

Format:
4 x 2 days online – Saturday and Sunday
3 x 3 days in person – Saturday to Monday
2 x 6 days in person – Friday to Wednesday

Meeting once a month. 9 months.

197 hour contact hours.
24 hours non-contact hours, for reading and essay writing. Practice teach and preparation.

Dates:

Module 1: 23rd and 24th of September 2023 (2 days online)

Module 2: 20th until 22nd of October 2023 (3 days in person)

Module 3: 1st until 6th of December 2023 (6 days in person)

Module 4: 13th and 14th of January 2024 (2 days online)

Module 5: 2nd until 4th of February 2024 (3 days in person)

Module 6: 1st until 3rd of March 2024 (3 days in person)

Module 7: 18th and 19th of May 2024 (2 days online)

Module 8: 7th until 12th of Jun 2024 (6 days in person)

Module 9: 29th and 30th of June 2024 (2 days online)

Attendance:

Out of the 29 days, 26 of those days must be attended live. If more than 3 days are missed, those days need to be made up. There is a surcharge of £100 per day to make up those days. Individual tasks will be given in those cases.

Online handouts and videos are included in the course material and will be made available during each module.

Certification:

Part of the certification process are three essays with a word count of between 1500 and 2000 words each. Two of those essays are experience based. One essay will include a mixture of research and experience.
There will be ongoing feedback throughout. There will be two yoga classes the training will organise, where you will be teaching members of the public.

Cost: £2800 or £2700, if the taster weekend was paid for. A non-refundable deposit of £500 is required to secure your space. The remainder of £2300 or £2200 respectively is due to be paid by 23rd of August 2023.

Cancellation policy: No refund on deposits. No refund for cancellations with less than one month notice. Any refund will incur an admin charge of £8.
