Overview

I am a qualified yoga teacher based in Cork. Ireland, excited to share my practice with the world.

My yoga journey began in England in 1999 when I first attended Ashtanga Yoga classes to supplement a general fitness regime. Having worked for many years as a Counsellor in an Eating Disorders Service I always had a keen interest in holistic approaches to enhancing mental and emotional wellbeing but it was only after I moved to Ireland with my family in 2007 that I really started to bring these two interests together and began to explore the immense healing benefits that yoga has on the mind, body, and soul.

I was soon hooked, and went on to complete a Yoga Teaching Diploma with the YTTC in Cork in 2010.

I have since attended trainings with several world renowned teachers such as Donna Farhi, Bo Forbes, and Judith Hanson Lasater. I qualified as a Kids Yoga Teacher in 2011, completed a Restorative yoga training in London in 2017, and became a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCMs) in 2018.

I have also attended trainings on Yoga for Stress, Anxiety, and Eating Disorders (with Yoga Campus in London), and in 2019 I completed a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Advanced Intensive Training at The YogaRoom, Dublin.

I currently own a small yoga studio in Douglas Village just outside Cork city where I teach classes that combine Hatha Yoga with Mobility exercises. I also teach Gentle yoga, Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and I am available for 1:1 sessions in Yoga for Stress and Anxiety. There are a number of other teachers teaching within the studio and the studio is available for rent. The studio has ample free parking and wheelchair access. Louise George teaches Yoga really well, she’s very easy to follow with her instructions to us. One pose flows into the next one, the variations of poses are numerous and one feels that all body parts get stimulated. Her voice is soothing and has the ability to allow me to understand and perform in a way that at the end of the class I feel very good and well satisfied. She is very generous of her time and has given participants numerous classes for us to benefit from, covering all body parts. She is an amazing yoga instructor and lovely too.

I have been going to Louise's classes (in person and online) for nearly 3 years now. She is such an inspiration and a healer. She is a natural to it, her patience to explain each and every pose is endless, to a point that you just cannot get it wrong. I love the pace of her classes (and the peace), the sense of grounding and wellbeing. No two classes are the same she seems to be full of resources. She has improved the quality of my life and my mental health and for that I will be grateful. Namaste she is the most amazing yoga teacher.
