Overview

My path to yoga started in 2002. I was amazed to find that there were lots of similarities with dance as I had studied Ballet and Contemporary dance in Lithuania. I have always been fascinated by the way the body moves and how you can express yourself. For me it is grace, elegance and lightness. Yoga gave me all that and much more - it is unique as it allows us to connect the movement of the body and mind with the rhythm of our breath. Connecting the mind and body with the breath helps us to direct our attention inwards.

I practised Ashtanga Yoga for about 3 years. Afterwords I started practising Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Rohan Hennessy. His detailed knowledge gave me a new depth of understanding of the workings and movement of the body. By 2010 I had enrolled in the Teacher Training Course in Samadhi. With Greg Walsh's, Nikki Cousins's and Cara Chotiner's guidance, endless knowledge and experience, I achieved my certificate in the Autumn of 2011.

Yoga provides me with a nurturing practise - physically, emotionally and spiritually. It gives me clarity, a sense of stillness and a lift in every aspect of my life. When I am on my mat I like to challenge myself and channel my energy to get the most of my practise. I am aware that this is only the beginning of this journey...there is so much more to embrace and I am looking forward to that.
