Can I teach yoga in the UK, if I have graduated from a course abroad?

Yoga is an unregulated industry, meaning there are no global rules or regulations strictly governing who can teach yoga and where.

The crucial factor for teaching yoga in the UK is not where you trained but whether the organisation you wish to be associated with recognises your certification you would like to join OR your employer may have set requirements.

From our perspective, as long as you have a 200-hour teacher training qualification (that was not completed on-demand), you can teach yoga in the UK, regardless of where you obtained the certificate. For example, if you trained in India, you can still teach in the UK.

Pro Tip: Before starting a 200-hour course, it's wise to check with the accreditation body you intend to join in the UK to ensure the course is recognised. This pre-emptive step can save you time and ensure a smoother transition into teaching in the UK later on!
