Overview

Joana Cadete is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher and Prenatal Yoga Teacher, lives at Ericeira, Portugal, a World Surfing Reserve, her second passion along with Yoga.

She practices Hatha Yoga since 1995 and in 2000 she started Ashtanga Yoga, and teaching.

She initiated her Hatha Yoga practice with Prof. Carlos Rui Ferreira of the Centro Português de Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga with Tomás Zorzo ,Camino Diez, and Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, in Mysore, India.

From 2003 to 2008 she went, in an annual basis, to India, Mysore, to study with com Sri K. Patabhi Jois and Sharath.

In 2008 she completed the 3 year teacher training course in Hatha Yoga, from Centro Português de Yoga, with Prof. Carlos Rui Ferreira.

She had contact with Vedanta (Self-Knowledge) in 2008, and studied with Swami Suddhananda in 2009, 2010 and 2011 the Tattva Bodha and some Upanishads. Since 2012 she proceeds her Vedanta studies with Swami Dayananda, Rishikesh, India and with Professora Glória Arieira, from Vidya Mandir, Brasil.

In 2010 she finished a Specialization Course in Philosophy and East Studies, from Faculdade de Letras, Lisbon.

Since 2012 she conducts Satsangas of Vedanta and in 2013 she founded two Group of Studies in Yoga and Vedanta, under the supervision of Professora Glória Arieira.

She did her first course on Sankrit in 2005, and study it in a regular basis since 2013 under the guidance of her teacher Swamini Svatmabodhananda Saraswati, disciple of  Swami Dayananda, and Miguel Homem, from Casa Ganapati, Portugal.

In 2015 she completed the Teacher Training in Ashtanga Yoga with David Swenson, and the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Anastasia Zarafoniti.

Every year she travels to India to deepen her studies in Yoga and Vedanta, conduct courses, and organizes several workshops in Portugal with international teachers in these areas. 

She shares her time between practicing and teaching Yoga and Vedanta, to adults and kids, being with her family and surfing. She feels blessed in being a part of Yoga Tradition, sharing with her students its benefits and inspiring them towards self-knowledge, bringing yoga to daily life and enjoy a happy and fulfilled living.
