I started doing yoga on and off from the age of 17. My first teacher taught Hatha Yoga and when I was expecting my son, I did pregnancy yoga classes and then mother and baby yoga. In 2008 I discovered Bikram yoga and was hooked. It was local to where I lived and I loved the heat and the 26 postures. I found that having a regular practice helped with my back problems and mental health. It was at this time that I hoped that one day I would become a yoga teacher, since I really saw the benefits it had given me, having a regular practice.
The studio I practised from then set up Fierce Grace and at this time, my work commitments changed as a Photography Lecturer, so I started to practice from home and tried out different styles of yoga, close to where I lived, from Yoga in Daily life to Jivamukti. But I always came back to Hot Yoga studio and started to regularly attend Fierce Grace again.
I really enjoy the variety of classes that Fierce Grace provides and was inspired by one of the teachers to consider doing the highly acclaimed Fierce Grace Teacher Training course.
I completed the 200-hour Fierce Grace Teacher Training course on 11th December 2022 and am now excited to be venturing into teaching yoga to children through the Beam Academy.
I am looking forward to sharing my skills and experience with practitioners and those new and curious to find out more about yoga. It is a great privilege to be in a position where I'm learning more about yoga and being able to share the benefits.
