Overview

In 2016 I followed a 200hr vinyasa krama teacher training with Andrea Everingham from OneYoga studio in Manchester.

This teacher training was held at the lovely yoga&pilates retreat of Azul fit in Fuerteventura where I've spend some fabulous yoga retreats in 2015 myself.

After some years of practicing yoga intensely I was drawn to deepen my practice and knowledge of yoga and to become a yoga teacher.

As I am a clinical psychologist in rehabilitation centres in Holland for many years my special interest lies in the connection between body and mind. In daily life I work with patients with chronic pain syndrome and complex cardiac disease.

In my profession as a healthpsychologist I discovered and learned about the importance of relaxation, mindfulness and balancing between body and mind.

Yoga has been a way to balance my own life for many years and I have experienced a lot of benefits from it, such as relaxation, concentration and focus, breathing, strength and flexibility and deepening my spiritual development as a human being.

In my teacher training with Andrea Everingham I have covered all the eight limbs of yoga. She deepened my knowledge of yoga philosophy, inner and outer practice of yoga, and most of all the enthousiasm for teaching it.

Next to my teacher training I did a one year traineeship at Annemarie Braun body&mind yoga studio in Bodegraven, The Netherlands. Annemarie is a very dedicated and experienced yoga teacher and she has taught me a lot about teaching, asanas, adjustments a.o. when I was assisting in her classes. Since my graduation in november 2016 I am teaching my own class in her studio which gives me a lot of joy and the opportunity to develop myself further,

In my classes I hope to transcend the joy of teaching and practicing yoga in its fullness within the context of a powerful flowing sequence of asanas (Ashtanga Vinyasa), teaching with clear instruction and adjustments on the body, all in a safe way .

Namaste.
